This is just to let you know that the recruitment window for History PGCEs based in Higher Education Institutions has been very tight indeed this year, despite the increase in the overall number of places available. Although applications opened only at the end of last month, our Institute of Education was told yesterday morning that they cannot offer any more places for their History PGCE for 2016-17. The same message has gone to other HEI providers of History PGCEs.

If you have put in an ITE application for History and not yet been offered a place, the good news is that 400 School Direct places are still available. These places are also open to new applicants. For further information, go to UCAS Teacher Training.
