7th-9th January 2016, University of Reading
The Programme is now out for next year’s American Politics Group [APG] conference. January’s conference will not only be held at the University of Reading but has also been organised by Dr Mara Oliva, Dafyyd Townley and Darius Wainwright who are all members of Reading’s Department of History.
The programme (which can be viewed below) offers three days filled with an array of exciting speakers.
About the Conference and the APG
This year’s APG broad conference theme is ‘Looking Back at Obama’ with attention being given to considering the years of Obama’s presidency and the forms of change that may have been set in motion as a result.
The conference will be kicking-off on the 7th January with a keynote paper presented by Prof Steven Teles (John Hopkins University) on ‘Bipartisan Policymaking in Polarized Times’. Panels across the three days include: ‘Race and Politics’, ‘Obama and Foreign Policies Challenges: ISIS & China’ and ‘The Presidency and National Security’ (and many more, as can be seen on the programme of speakers).
The APG is the leading scholarly association for the study of US politics in the UK and also has members in continental Europe and the USA. Further details about the group and its activities can be found on the APG website.
