Careers session for ALL Part 3 History students

This is a reminder about the forthcoming careers event for all Part 3 students which will be held Tuesday, 2nd February, 1-2pm in HumSS G27.

Details of this event should be on your timetables, but they may not tell you much more than date, time and venue.

This session is a new initiative to make sure that current Part 3 students don’t miss out on the new Employability focus in the History Programme.

Led by Careers Advisor for History, Sandhya Patel, it will be helpful whether or not you have already mapped out the first steps on your future career path. It will cover:

  • The broad range of career options available to History students
  • Crucial advice on self-promotion and networking, including tips on how you can create and build a professional Linkedin account, a tool currently used by more and more recruiters worldwide to find the employees of the future. Our ambition is for all History students to set up their Linkedin account well before graduating!

If you have any further queries please contact Dr Elizabeth Matthew, the department’s Employability Convenor, via: e.a.e.matthew@reading.ac.uk.

Elizabeth and Sandhya look forward to seeing you next week!
